Decrease 30 minute onboarding to under 5 minutes

Background

SaaS startup providing performance analytics for customer and sales teams.

Responsibility

UX Analyst and UI lead

Challenges

As a relatively unique product customers register however do not link their mailboxes and complete to see the value of the analytical reports to improve their teams performance.

Gathering analytics for performance requires linking their customers mailboxes safe and securely to the system. Customers need to trust, understand and see the value of the product.

Creating trust and quick value

Leading the re-design of the new style guide, home page and pricing page to focus on clarity of messaging and services offered with various plans.

The core priorities identified after analysing Google Analytics and Usability Analysis

Core journeys

  1. Redesign of onboarding experience where users can quickly add their mailbox on the 14-day trial and receive their first report.

  2. Verification and clear messaging what the system track.

  3. Re-design of dashboard reports for users to understand metrics and how to action the insights.

  1. Problem identification

I’ve worked closely with the core team, CEO, CTO and CMO to analyse the analytics and define the key areas of re-thinking.

I conducted a experience analysis from he entry point Home page through their current onboarding and dashboard. After analysis it was clear that we had to slim down the entire experience for users to quickly receive their first report.

2. Conceptual ideation

Understanding the technical requirements for this system to work properly I’ve ideated two different options and identified the journey with least resistance and offer the best value for a 14-day trial.

3. UI designs & handoff

The entire website was redesigned with new style-guide to be implemented in the rest of the screens so that there was no need to re-design every page only core experienced.

Final deliverables , Home page, Pricing, Registration flows, Onboarding & overview dashboard.

Final solution

I’ve designed a “quick win” journey following the path of the least resistance for users to easily add a single mailbox and see their first report.

Either, registering with their google or Microsoft amount. If by email we asked which email provider they would like to connect verify and send them their first report.
